Letter from our CEO
Charmaine Arthur, Chief of Programs

Charmaine Arthur
Chief of Programs
It is with great honor that I greet you as the CEO of Freedom House. Founded in 1949, it was at the center of civil rights and advocacy for Boston’s African American community. Our founders, Otto P. Snowden and Muriel S. Snowden left a legacy of community activism for quality and equitable schools, civic engagement, and social justice leadership.
Today we continue the work with a strong and diverse team of professionals with a shared purpose of educational equity for those underrepresented in higher education and professional trades that lead to economic prosperity.
As CEO, I am committed to continuing the mission and vision and addressing the social-emotional needs and wellness of all students. At Freedom House, we work hard to provide a safe space for our students, staff, and families.
We are excited to provide in-person programming for youth again. I welcome you to peruse our website to learn more about how we Inspire, Graduate and Give Back
With Gratitude, Charmaine L. Arthur
