A time for transitions and new beginnings
It has been quite a phenomenal year for Freedom House students, and we can’t believe that summer is already here.
The bittersweet graduations at our partner high schools and colleges have come and gone, and we send our students off to their next endeavors with well wishes (check out these photos from the Burkeand Snowdenfor more of the magic!)
This month has been a difficult one with the loss of one of our students. Nevertheless, our youth have been resilient in the hard times and carry on towards their dreams.
In our Class of 2016, we have students headed to Northeastern University, Bryn Mawr College, Boston University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and UMass Boston on full scholarships. We have future pilots and lawyers headed to Bridgewater State University, future computer scientists ready to take Boston by the storm, and leaders heading as far asHoward University and North Carolina Central University. We have five students from our PUSH High School and PUSH College attending Pine Manor College on amazing new Freedom House Scholarships, meaning they will receive the same coaching supports that Freedom House students receive at UMass Boston and Bunker Hill Community College, while being able to experience dorm life.
We are honored and overjoyed to watch our young people grow and thrive towards new opportunities. We know that they’re making their communities better by the minute, and we can’t wait to see what they bring next.
